Halloween Last Week
Ms. Anderson surprised the class with a jack o lantern door last week! Thank you Ms. Anderson.
Also a big thank you to Will and his family for the fun Halloween bags!
The class traded off their jack o lantern writing projects and had fun trying to recreate each others. Here are pictures of a few.
This Week
Just another FYI, on Thursday (November 5th) our class will be taking the Unit 1 Social Studies Test. The students have been given a study guide that they should have brought home. In addition to studying we will be playing a Jeopardy review game in class.

This Week...
Just an FYI, the class will have a science test this week on Thursday, October 22nd. A science study guide went home today (Tuesday).
We also have our unit 2 math test on Friday, October 23rd. We will be reviewing for the test Wednesday and Thursday.

October
So far October has been a busy month in our class. We finished our read aloud Stone Fox and watched the movie. We had some great discussions about the book throughout the month. Afterwards, we compared and contrasted the book to the movie.
We also finished Unit 1 in math and started Unit 2. Unit 2 is all about interpreting different forms of data. We have worked with bar graphs, frequency tables, and picture graphs. Next week will finish the unit by studying line plots.
The class will review Unit 2 for two days and then we plan on taking our test on Friday.
We also finished our first formal writing piece. The class wrote paragraphs. Most of the kids wrote something about Halloween but a few chose different subjects. Everyone worked really hard. Next week we will start learning about writing a personal narrative.
In social studies we started learning about the different regions in Massachusetts. We started with Cape Cod. While we learn about each region we are marking up our maps of Massachusetts. We are learning that map making can be a little tricky :)
